Popcorn Time!

I love the smell of fresh buttery popcorn, and apparently so do many others.  Meet Sheree, aka “The Popcorn Lady”, a volunteer with the PTO at one of our local elementary schools. Sheree

Sheree and I met when she was looking for someone to sew some aprons for her and the other volunteers to wear on Popcorn Friday’s.  Sheree had one apron but unfortunately it wasn’t able to stand up to an unfortunate demise in the back of her car.  This is where I come in, and I am so blessed that God has gifted me the ability to look at something and then be able to recreate it.

Thank you Sheree for the opportunity to sew these aprons for you.  I am happy to hear that they were “a hit” with your crew.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Farewell 2017 and Welcome 2018!  As I sit to write this post, I can’t help but ponder on all of the New Years Resolutions that will be made but then not followed through.  Why does this happen?  We have such good intentions, but then life happens.  But what if we were to just choose one resolution and assign it a purpose!  Two years ago, I said I was going to quit smoking.  That goal had purpose in my life and I am still smoke free today.  Last year my goal was to read the Bible through chronologically in a year.  That goal had purpose in my life and I am a better Christian today.  So what purpose can you give to that one goal that you want to achieve?

Like many others, my goal this year is to lose weight, but there are so many things that go into losing weight.  Eat right, exercise, no sugar, low carb, reduce stress, get enough sleep, etc.  The list can be exhausting if we try and focus on all of those things, so I am choosing exercise.  Last year I came across a site for virtual running events and decided to give it a try.  Journey to Jupiter starts today and I am happy to say that I logged my first two miles of the year.  That two miles also gets me closer to completing the Full Moon Challenge (13 miles total, 1 for every full moon in 2018).  Whether you run or walk, bike or swim, every mile counts.

Would you join me in assigning purpose to your resolutions?  It all starts with having Faith.  Faith helps us to resist those negative thoughts that can often hinder our progress and Faith can keep us from indulging in those things that ultimately bring dissatisfaction.  Let us encourage one another in our purposeful decisions and celebrate even the smallest of victories along the way!

ALMOST TIME!

About 6 months ago I was on a quest for better health and found a site that sponsored virtual 5K events.  My thoughts at the time were all very positive and I started out great, making time to exercise and logging my distance.  Then my family got hit with some unexpected news and roles in our household changed.  Exercise took a backseat to everything else that was going on in our life.  My quest for better health didn’t stop, I simply had to focus on my diet.  That being said, it is time to fast forward to today.

The count down has begun, and it is time to Get Up and Get Moving on the Journey to Jupiter.  That’s right!  January is just around the corner, and if you signed up early on, you should have received an email stating that your shipment is on the way.  Didn’t sign up during early bird registration, that is okay, you can still join in on the fun.  Simply go to http://www.moonjoggers.com and sign up.  While you are there, check out the other virtual race events for 2018.  Looking for encouragement along the way, I invite you to join the WBF One Mile At A Time team once you have registered.   Let’s get this Journey started!

Crazy Times!

So much has been happening since the start of I Am Walking By Faith, that I am just now getting around to some website updates.  I changed the layout a little bit in the hopes of making the site user friendly across multiple devices.  I Aw Walking By Faith can also be found through the new Facebook page and group.  Simply click on the Facebook icon and you can follow me from there.  Twitter and Instagram are still in the works.

I started using Facebook to post about the Multi-Strand Bible Bookmarks that I was making and to my surprise received my first order within just a few days of posting.  I was so excited that I immediately went to work on completing the order of 20 bookmarks.  Since completing the first order, I have ordered some new supplies and will posting my latest idea using some new elements.
